| 裏面の説明 | Central depiction of the RNLI Trent-class lifeboat Roy Barker I (station number 14-04) navigating at sea, rendered in high relief with detailed rigging and hull markings. Waves are depicted beneath the vessel, conveying the vessel's operational environment. The inscriptions WITH COURAGE NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE and RNLI appear in the field, with the denomination FIVE POUNDS and the station identifier 14-04 completing the legend. The overall composition commemorates the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the service of this named vessel. |

The RNLI celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2024, but commemorative programs tied to the institution began rolling out years earlier. Roy Barker I was the Padstow lifeboat, lost with all hands — eight crew — in the Doom Bar disaster of April 1900, one of the most painful single incidents in the institution's history. Alderney has issued under Guernsey authority since 1993, giving the Crown Dependency a vehicle for commemorative programs well outside its modest domestic economy.
