Additional information

The "Revolution to Restoration" title refers to the period bracketing the English Civil War — from the execution of Charles I in 1649 through Cromwell's Interregnum to Charles II's return in 1660. Guernsey's relationship with that period was notably complicated: the island was largely Royalist, and Castle Cornet held out for the Crown until 1651, one of the last Royalist strongholds to fall in the British Isles.

This is a Royal Mint-contracted commemorative struck to the standard 28.28g sterling specification used across dozens of Crown-sized issues from this period — Guernsey's own minting infrastructure has never produced silver coinage domestically.
