| 背面描述 | Facing three-quarter bust portrait of John Pym (1584–1643), the prominent English parliamentarian and leading opponent of King Charles I, depicted in period dress with a lace-trimmed collar, rendered in fine relief against a polished proof field. The arc legend REVOLUTION TO RESTORATION runs across the upper portion of the coin, with the sitter's name JOHN PYM inscribed to the left of the portrait. The denomination 5 POUNDS appears in the lower exergue in capital letters. |

John Pym was the parliamentary strategist most responsible for organizing resistance to Charles I in the years leading to the Civil War — it was Pym who engineered the impeachment of Strafford in 1641 and helped draft the Grand Remonstrance. He died in December 1643, just before Parliament's fortunes turned decisively with the Solemn League and Covenant bringing Scottish troops into the conflict. Jersey, a Crown dependency that remained staunchly Royalist throughout the war, makes for an quietly ironic issuer of a coin honoring Parliament's chief architect.
