Surrounding the central bloom, a sweeping arc of smaller stylised red poppies fills the lower portion of the field, creating a rich, layered composition. The full text of Laurence Binyon's Ode of Remembrance is inscribed in a continuous legend around the periphery in fine lettering, beginning at the upper left. The design was created by Dom Nokes and the colour application gives the poppies striking visual prominence against the gold-toned background. |
