Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·5 POUNDS· 2021· J.C
(Translation: Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith)
Reverse description The reverse, designed by Gary Breeze, features the celebrated lines from Laurence Binyon's poem 'For the Fallen' inscribed across the field in bold serif capitals: AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN & IN THE MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. In the lower right quadrant, a cluster of three colour-printed red poppies with dark centres and slender green stems is depicted as a symbol of Remembrance, their vivid hues contrasting with the polished silver field. The engraver's initials GB appear discreetly to the lower right, adjacent to the poppies.
