Jersey's annual Remembrance issues occupy an awkward commercial niche — bullion-adjacent packaging on a base-metal coin, gold plating doing the work that gold content cannot. The red ink applied selectively to the poppy detail is a modern mint technique borrowed from Canadian commemorative production, where the Royal Canadian Mint pioneered colored circulating coinage in 2004. This piece follows that same selective colorization method on a plated substrate.
