Reverse description A richly detailed commemorative design by John Bergdahl celebrating the bicentenary of Queen Victoria's birth (1819–2019). The field is composed of interlocking cog-wheel motifs evoking the Victorian industrial age, within which four vignette cartouches display iconic symbols of Victorian-era progress: a steam locomotive at upper left, a full-rigged sailing vessel at lower centre, a penny-farthing bicycle at right, and an early candlestick telephone at lower right. At upper right, a youthful diademed effigy of Queen Victoria faces right, inspired by the classic portrait used on Victorian coinage, accompanied by the inscription VICTORIA and the dates 1819–2019. The denomination 5 POUNDS appears within a gear cartouche at upper left, and the engraver's initials JB are situated at the lower rim.
