Obverse description The third definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered by Raphael David Maklouf, depicting the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a draped neckline. The portrait is set within a beaded inner circle, with the royal legend arranged around the periphery of the field. The inscription includes the monarch's name, the abbreviated Latin titles, and the denomination, separated by raised dots. The design reflects the refined neoclassical portrait style characteristic of Maklouf's coinage work for the Royal Mint from 1985 onward.
