Issued to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in March 2002, at age 101. Jersey, as a Crown Dependency, has long issued commemorative gold proofs through the Royal Mint under license, and this piece followed the wave of memorial issues produced across British territories that year.
