Additional information

Issued the year after Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother's 106th birthday would have fallen, this piece belongs to a wave of commemoratives Jersey produced throughout the 2000s honoring her life. She died in March 2002 at Royal Lodge, Windsor, having outlived her husband George VI by exactly fifty years. Jersey's commemorative program for her has been notably extensive — more issues than most dependencies produced for any single non-regnant royal.
