Issued to mark the birth of Princess Charlotte in May 2015, this piece is one of dozens of commemorative crowns produced by Crown Dependencies and overseas territories that year — Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man all struck similar issues within weeks of the announcement. The Royal Mint itself produced no equivalent circulation coin, leaving the commemorative field entirely to these peripheral issuers.
