The Platinum Jubilee commemorative program issued across British Crown Dependencies in 2022 was notably fragmented — different dependencies commissioned different reverses under a shared framework, making Alderney's contributions technically distinct issues from otherwise near-identical Jersey or Guernsey pieces. Alderney, with a resident population under 2,000, issues coins through Pobjoy Mint under a licensing arrangement that gives it nominal issuing authority despite having no independent central bank.
The "Strength" title places this piece within a multi-coin jubilee series, a format Pobjoy has used aggressively since at least the Golden Jubilee in 2002.
