Issued to mark Elizabeth II surpassing Victoria's reign on 9 September 2015 — the precise date she became Britain's longest-reigning monarch at 63 years and 216 days — Jersey's status as a Crown Dependency gave it the authority to issue commemorative coinage independently of the Royal Mint.
