Issued to mark Elizabeth II surpassing Victoria's record of 63 years and 216 days on 9 September 2015, this commemorative was one of several competing issues released that year by British Crown Dependencies racing to capture the occasion. Jersey's version added gold ink to a copper-nickel flan — a production approach that ages poorly in circulation, with the ink prone to flaking at the high points of the design.
