| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse features a double effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, presenting two conjoined right-facing portraits of the Queen at different ages, evoking her lifetime of service. The foreground portrait depicts an elderly Queen with short curled hair, wearing a pearl necklace and a decorative brooch, while a younger profile appears behind. The legend ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF JERSEY arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2011 positioned at the lower right. The field is polished to a mirror-like finish, providing strong contrast against the raised portrait devices. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse displays two crowned and rampant lions rendered in selective gold plating, positioned passant guardant in heraldic style and occupying the central field. Between them, a flagpole bears a pennant inscribed with the royal cypher E·P, also finished in gold. The denomination FIVE POUNDS appears in the lower portion of the legend, with the Latin motto FIDEM · VERITATEMQVE · TIBI · FERAM running around the upper periphery, all separated by raised dots. The contrast between the gold-plated heraldic devices and the polished copper-nickel field creates a striking two-tone visual effect. |

Issued to mark Elizabeth II's 85th birthday, this piece belongs to a wave of commemorative output from Jersey that accelerated notably in the 2000s as the island's mint program leaned increasingly toward collector revenue. The selective gold plating — applied post-strike to the copper-nickel blank — is a commercial finishing technique, not a Royal Mint process, and has no bearing on face value or legal tender status.
Jersey's commemorative five-pound series of this period drew on the same 28.28g specification used across much of the Commonwealth's cupro-nickel crown-sized output, sourced through the same supply chains as Pobjoy Mint clients.
