| Reverse description | A large, vibrant red-colored poppy in full bloom dominates the entire reverse field, its petals rendered in applied color and textured detail as a tribute to the Armistice of 11 November 1918. At the center of the poppy, within the uncolored disc formed by the flower's heart, the circular legend LEST WE FORGET arcs above the year 1918, with FIVE POUNDS below. Three Roman numeral inscriptions XI appear at equal intervals around the lower portion of the field, each paired with the words HOUR, DAY, and MONTH respectively, referencing the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. |
