Issued to mark the Queen's diamond wedding anniversary in 2007 — sixty years after the Westminster Abbey ceremony of November 20, 1947 — this is one of several Crown-sized commemoratives Guernsey produced for major royal milestones during Elizabeth II's reign. The island's bailiwick status outside the United Kingdom proper gave its government independent authority to issue coinage, a position it used aggressively throughout the 1970s–2000s commemorative boom.
KM#210 is copper-nickel, sharing its specification with the standard UK Crown format adopted widely across Crown Dependencies for cost-effective commemorative production.
