| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond diadem and pearl drop earrings, with a pearl necklace visible at the shoulder, after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf. The Queen's hair is styled in a characteristic coiffure beneath the diadem, and the truncation bears the engraver's initials RDM. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left field, with GIBRALTAR and the date 2005 continuing along the right and lower right rim, all within a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued to mark the bicentenary of Trafalgar, this coin commemorates the aftermath of the battle rather than the victory itself — specifically the moment HMS Victory was taken under tow by HMS Neptune on 22 October 1805, her rigging destroyed and Nelson dead below decks. Gibraltar was the nearest friendly port, and the battered fleet under Collingwood limped toward the Rock through a violent Atlantic storm that ultimately sank or wrecked more French and Spanish prizes than British guns had managed.
