| 背面描述 | A finely detailed depiction of HMS Victory under full sail occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with intricate rigging, billowing sails, and the hull riding stylized ocean waves. The inscription FIVE POUNDS arcs across the upper portion of the field, while the name VICTORY appears in the lower field beneath the ship. Two crossed anchors in rope are depicted below the waterline, serving as a decorative device referencing naval tradition. The entire design is set against a deeply mirrored proof background, accentuating the sculptural detail of the vessel. |

HMS Victory was already over 230 years old when this coin was issued, having survived Trafalgar in 1805 largely through the seamanship of Captain Thomas Hardy after Nelson fell on the quarterdeck. The ship never fired another shot in anger — she was commissioned as a permanent fixture in Portsmouth Harbour in 1922, the world's oldest naval vessel still in commission.
Guernsey's commemorative silver program in this period licensed a wide range of British heritage subjects with minimal connection to the island itself.
