| Aanvullende informatie |
H.M.S. Warspite earned more battle honours than any other ship in Royal Navy history — fifteen, spanning Jutland in 1916 through Walcheren in 1944. The 2009 issue falls within a long-running Alderney programme commemorating British naval heritage, with Warspite a recurring subject given her outsized operational record. She was sold for scrapping in 1947 but ran aground in Prussia Cove, Cornwall before reaching the breakers, and portions of her hull remained on the beach for years.
