| Obverse lettering | ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY 2014 |
| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold commemorative design by David Lawrence evoking the centenary of the First World War. In the foreground to the right, a fully detailed relief figure of a British soldier in steel helmet and service dress stands at ease, his equipment and uniform rendered with fine engraving. Behind him, a silhouetted group of advancing infantrymen with rifles is depicted in lower relief against the mirrored field, conveying depth and movement. The famous lines from Laurence Binyon's 'For the Fallen' are inscribed across the field in mixed-case lettering: 'AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM', with the date range '1914-1918' and the denomination '£5' displayed in the lower portion of the field within a beaded border. |
