Reverse description Adapted reproduction of William Dyce's reverse design from the 1847 Victoria Gothic Crown, featuring the quartered royal arms displayed within an ornate cruciform shield at centre, the four quarters bearing the three lions passant guardant of England (first and fourth), lion rampant of Scotland (second), and harp of Ireland (third). The shield is surmounted by the royal crown and flanked by elaborate Gothic tracery and floral emblems. A central roundel bears the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The peripheral legend in Gothic blackletter script reads TUEATUR UNITA DEUS and ANNO DOM MDCCCXLVII, separated by ornamental stops, all within a beaded border.
