The dates 1947 and 1997 flank the legend ELIZABETH AND PHILIP arching above, with the denomination FIVE POUNDS inscribed in the lower exergue. The design, executed by Barry Stanton and signed BS, combines portraiture and architectural elements in a celebratory commemorative composition. |
