Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen's mature likeness is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and jewellery. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY around the periphery, with the date 2005 at the lower right. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the neck.

Reverse description Central design depicting two standing male figures raising their right arms in salute before a crowd: Winston Churchill at left giving his iconic two-fingered Victory sign, and King George VI at right in military uniform with his right arm raised. Between and below the two figures is a commemorative roundel inscribed COMMEMORATION with the dates 1945 and 2005 flanking a stylised VE emblem with radiating lines. The legend END OF WORLD WAR II 60TH ANNIVERSARY arcs around the upper field, and FIVE POUNDS is inscribed along the lower exergue.
