| 背面描述 | Central device depicting a gold-plated equestrian figure, traditionally associated with the Duke of Wellington, seated upon a standing horse in profile facing left, rendered in high relief and finished with selective gold plating against a deeply contrasting proof field. A horizontal baseline beneath the horse separates the central device from the denomination legend FIVE POUNDS, which appears in the lower exergue on a frosted panel. The arc legend BATTLE OF WATERLOO • 18TH JUNE 1815 curves along the upper periphery of the field, commemorating the bicentenary of the decisive engagement of 18 June 1815. |

Issued to mark the 200th anniversary of the battle, this coin arrives from an issuer with genuine geographic proximity to the event — Jersey sits roughly 300 kilometers from the Waterloo battlefield and was firmly British-administered throughout the Napoleonic Wars. The island supplied men to British regiments and its militia remained on alert throughout the campaign period.
Gold-plated copper-nickel crowns of this format were produced in enormous quantities across dozens of issuing authorities throughout the 2015 commemorative cycle, many sharing the same 28.28g blanks sourced from the same contracted mints.
