Bosworth Field, fought on 22 August 1485, ended the Plantagenet dynasty when Richard III was killed in the final charge — the last English king to die in battle. Henry Tudor's victory was narrow enough that a different outcome would have erased the entire Tudor line before it began. Jersey's connection to the event is essentially none; the island issued this piece as part of a broader commemorative program timed to the 524th anniversary, a figure with no particular historical significance.
