Bell's connection to any Guernsey commemorative is purely honorific — the choice of subject reflects the broader trend among Crown Dependencies in the 2000s of licensing historical figures for bullion-adjacent silver issues with little pretense of local relevance. Bell was born in Edinburgh, worked in Canada, and made his decisive telephone experiments in Boston and Brantford, Ontario.
KM#206 was struck by the Royal Mint on behalf of the States of Guernsey under standard commemorative licensing arrangements common to the period.
