Issued on the bicentennial of Trafalgar, this coin commemorates the October 1805 battle in which Nelson's fleet destroyed the combined Franco-Spanish force off Cape Trafalgar without losing a single ship — though Nelson himself was struck by a French sharpshooter's ball from the Redoubtable and died below decks before the engagement was won. Jersey's connection to the Royal Navy made it a natural issuer for such a commemorative.
