Struck to mark Elizabeth II's 90th birthday in 2016, this issue appeared the same year Jersey produced an unusually dense run of commemorative crown-sized pieces, most sharing the same Pobjoy Mint production contract. The nickel brass composition was chosen to keep the proof version accessible in price while visually distinguishing it from the silver and gold variants in the same release program.
