Above the skyline, two large diagonal banners hang from a horizontal pole, the central one displaying the Union Jack flag in fine detail, flanked by letter banners forming a V·E motif, commemorating Victory in Europe Day. The circumferential legend arcing around the upper field reads 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF V.E. DAY, while the dates 1945 and 2015 appear on the lower left and right respectively, with the denomination FIVE POUNDS inscribed along the lower arc.
