| Additional information |
Alderney — a dependency of the Bailiwick of Guernsey with no currency of its own in circulation — has issued commemorative crowns under Crown dependency authority since the 1990s, largely targeting the collector market rather than any actual monetary function. This piece marks the 60th wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who married at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947, making theirs the longest marriage of any British sovereign on record at the time of issue.
The dual KM references suggest this type was struck in both standard and proof finishes.
