Reverse description A boldly rendered Yale of Beaufort, the mythical heraldic beast depicted as a spotted antelope-like creature with swivelling horns, stands passant atop a shield charged with a crowned portcullis with chains, the badge of the Beaufort family and a traditional emblem of Westminster. The design forms part of the Queen's Beasts series celebrating the heraldic symbols of the royal lineage. The date '2019' is divided and flanked by ornamental stops on either side of the central device, with the legend 'YALE OF BEAUFORT' and the engraver's initials 'JC' completing the reverse inscription.
