Reverse description A finely detailed right-facing portrait bust of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, dominates the central field, depicting the Prince in later life wearing a suit and tie. To the upper right of the effigy, arranged in two stacked lines, appears the inscription HRH THE PRINCE PHILIP, separated by a horizontal rule from the lower legend DUKE OF EDINBURGH, beneath which the centenary dates 1921 and 2021 are displayed in two lines. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small characters at the lower centre of the field, below the portrait.
