Peter Rabbit entered the public domain in the UK in 1973, fifty years after Beatrix Potter's death, but the Royal Mint's licensing arrangement with Frederick Warne & Co. — the original publisher — long predates that. This 2022 piece is part of a collector series that began in 2016, timed to the 150th anniversary of Potter's birth. The coins sell primarily as gifts rather than numismatic acquisitions, and circulate almost exclusively between presentation folders and display cases.
