| 正面描述 | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, is depicted in right-facing profile bust, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem and a drop earring. The legend ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · is arranged around the periphery, with 5 POUNDS and the date 2020 completing the circular inscription. The engraver's initials J.C appear below the truncation of the bust. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and crown. |

Issued as part of the Royal Mint's Music Legends series, this piece commemorates David Bowie roughly four years after his death in January 2016. The series itself was something of a commercial pivot for the Mint — collectible crown-sized issues tied to British cultural figures had proven reliably profitable since the 1990s, and rock musicians represented an underexploited category. Bowie's estate involvement lent the project a degree of curatorial legitimacy that earlier celebrity issues often lacked.
The Spink reference Sp#DB4 places this among multiple Bowie releases from the same year, spanning finishes from standard copper-nickel through to gold proof.
