| Beschrijving keerzijde | The full achievement of the Royal Arms is depicted at centre, featuring the quartered shield bearing the arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland, surmounted by the Imperial Crown. The dexter supporter is the crowned Lion of England and the sinister supporter is the unicorn of Scotland, the latter chained. A ribbon beneath the shield bears the motto of the Order of the Garter, with the date 2013 displayed prominently in the exergue. The design is attributed to engraver James Butler and is rendered in sharp cameo relief against a mirror-polished field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the 1953 Coronation, this piece belongs to a commemorative program the Royal Mint launched across multiple denominations and metals. The 1953 ceremony itself was the first British coronation televised — a decision resisted by Churchill and the Earl Marshal before the Queen personally intervened to allow cameras into Westminster Abbey.
The Spink reference Sp#L28 places this firmly in the limited gold proof tier, struck to order rather than for general release.
