Additional information

The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, run over the island's public roads since 1907, is the oldest motorcycle racing event still held on its original course. The Manx government has issued commemorative coinage tied to the TT with remarkable regularity since the 1970s, and this 2017–2018 nickel silver issue marks 110 years of continuous racing — interrupted only by both World Wars. The Snaefell Mountain Course, at 37.73 miles per lap, remains the longest and most dangerous circuit in active motorsport competition.
