| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III, rendered in high relief after the portrait by engraver Jody Clark, occupying the central field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The king's mature likeness is depicted with naturalistic detail in the hair and facial features. The circular legend around the periphery reads 'ALDERNEY • 5 POUNDS • KING CHARLES III', separated by raised dots, with the date '2025' positioned at the base. The engraver's initials 'JC' appear below the truncation of the portrait, and the design is bounded by a fine beaded inner border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Una and the Lion design originates with William Wyon's 1839 pattern five-pound piece for Queen Victoria — never struck for circulation, intended purely as a prestige showpiece, and widely considered the finest British coin of the 19th century. Reviving it with a new monarch continues a tradition of deliberate visual continuity that has made the composition one of the most reprised in modern commemorative coinage.
Alderney issues under the Crown Dependency framework while maintaining its own coinage rights separate from Guernsey's administration.
