Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April 1926, making 2026 her centenary year — a milestone the Isle of Man Treasury has chosen to mark despite her death in September 2022. The Isle of Man has a long habit of issuing commemoratives ahead of the curve; the Pobjoy Mint, which has handled much of the island's commemorative output for decades, built its reputation partly on exactly this kind of anticipatory royal issue.
