Pitcairn Islands issues coinage under Royal Mint licensing arrangements despite having no functioning domestic currency — the roughly 40 inhabitants use New Zealand dollars in practice. These pieces are produced entirely for the collector market and never circulate on the island itself.
The Disney licensing tie-in places this squarely in a wave of themed legal-tender issues from small jurisdictions that began flooding the market in the 2010s. KM#126 is one of several Frozen-character pieces in the 2023 Pitcairn program.
