Beschrijving keerzijde A highly detailed architectural elevation of the east façade of Buckingham Palace occupies the central field, rendered with meticulous relief work depicting the neoclassical frontage, including the central portico with its pediment bearing the Royal Arms, flanking colonnades, regularly spaced windows, and the central arched entrance gateway. The Royal Standard flies from the flagpole above the roofline, indicating the Sovereign is in residence. The composition is framed by an ornate border of scrolling acanthus foliage and foliate arabesques extending around the full circumference, enclosing the architectural scene within an oval cartouche. The inscription BUCKINGHAM PALACE is rendered in two lines in Roman capitals beneath the palace façade, with the engraver's initials HDG visible in the lower right of the inner field.
