The Falkland Islands pound has been pegged one-to-one with sterling since 1983, making this note functionally interchangeable with its UK equivalent within the islands — though accepted nowhere else. Falklands notes circulate in a population of under 4,000, which means print runs are extremely small by any commercial standard, and used examples are correspondingly hard to find outside the territory.
This is among the earliest Falklands issues to carry Charles III's portrait following the 2022 accession, replacing the long-running Elizabeth II series. De La Rue's shift to polymer for this denomination reflects the same substrate change the UK itself made with its own higher-denomination notes from 2017 onward.
