Additional information

Issued in anticipation of the centenary of Elizabeth II's birth on 21 April 1926, this coin arrives while the full shape of Charles III's reign remains unwritten. Elizabeth became queen at 25 following her father's death in February 1952 and reigned for 70 years — the longest of any British monarch. The commemorative program itself follows a well-established Royal Mint pattern of centenary tributes, the most recent comparable issue marking the 2021 centenary of Prince Philip's birth.
