| 背面描述 | The reverse is printed entirely in blue, with a central oval intaglio vignette of a seated classical female figure holding a staff, surrounded by an ornate guilloche border with the partial legend UTILITAT around the oval frame. Three large rosette medallions are positioned at left, centre, and right within an elaborate geometric guilloche pattern that fills the entire field. The denomination FIVE appears in solid panels at the left and right margins, and the printer's imprint is present at the lower edge. |

| 备注 |
The British Linen Bank — originally chartered in 1746 to finance the Scottish linen trade — had long since abandoned any connection to textiles by the time this note was issued, operating as a fully conventional commercial bank under the Bank of Scotland umbrella. This 1961 issue is among the final outputs from Waterlow & Sons before the firm was absorbed by De La Rue that same year, ending over 150 years of banknote and security printing under the Waterlow name.
The British Linen Bank itself survived until 1969, when it was formally merged into the Bank of Scotland, making notes from this late period short-lived in terms of the issuing institution's remaining lifespan.
