| 备注 |
Barclays Bank DCO — the "Dominion, Colonial and Overseas" entity formed from the 1925 amalgamation of Colonial Bank, Anglo-Egyptian Bank, and National Bank of South Africa — was issuing private banknotes across multiple territories almost immediately after its formation. This 5 Pounds note from 1926 is among the earliest printed under the unified DCO identity, produced by Bradbury Wilkinson at their New Malden works.
The Pick S designation places it firmly in the private/commercial issuer category. Bradbury Wilkinson held extensive contracts across British colonial banking networks during this period, and the plate quality on DCO issues is generally high.
