Reverse description A detailed intaglio architectural vignette occupies the centre and right of the note, rendering the Tudor-Gothic façade of The Queen's University of Belfast in fine line engraving against a pale guilloche underprint. At upper left, a panel carries the motto SAPIENTIA JUSTITIA beneath a decorative device, while the denomination £5 appears in a multi-tone numeral at lower left and within a ornate cartouche at upper right. The issuer name Bank of Ireland is printed in bold at the top, flanked by the bank's emblem.
