The Arab Land Bank was established in 1948 to finance agricultural development across Arab states, with Egypt as a principal founding member. This commemorative issue marks one of the bank's periodic anniversaries and belongs to a broader Egyptian silver program from the 1990s that produced dozens of institutional commemoratives — most in modest quantities, nearly all absorbed by the collector market rather than circulation.
