The Central Bank of Egypt has printed its own banknotes in-house since the Haram facility in Giza opened in 1967 — a relatively unusual arrangement for a country of Egypt's size, and one that gives the CBE direct control over security feature implementation without reliance on foreign contractors. The narrow segmented security thread variant in this series generated a catalog discrepancy that has persisted for years: the 18.08.2008 signature pairing erroneously attributed to P63b actually belongs to P63c, a misassignment traceable to early census data rather than the notes themselves.
The 26.02.2013 signature date is flagged as non-existent — no confirmed example has surfaced to validate it.
