Opmerkingen

Egypt's P#45 5 Pound series spans a decade of considerable monetary turbulence, bracketed by the aftermath of the 1967 Six-Day War defeat and the managed liberalization that followed Sadat's 1974 infitah policy. The Central Bank had absorbed the National Bank of Egypt's note-issuing function only in 1961, and this series reflects the transitional bureaucratic instability of that period — three different governor signatures across a single Pick number is unusual for a run of just over twelve million notes.

The signature of A. Zendo (Sig. 14) is the scarcest of the three, with a significantly narrower issue window than either flanking signatory.
