| Mô tả mặt trước | Intaglio vignette of a pharaonic mask — consistent with the gold funerary mask of Tutankhamun — at right, rendered in brown tones against a multicolour guilloche underprint. A large circular guilloche rosette occupies the left portion of the note, serving as the watermark window. Arabic inscriptions, date, serial numbers, and the governor's signature appear in the centre panel beneath an ornamental cartouche. |

A large guilloche medallion at left contains the numeral "5" over an intricate lathe-work rosette, with the legend "FIVE EGYPTIAN POUNDS" below. The centre is filled with an elaborate arabesque scrollwork vignette incorporating further numeral "5" devices. A blank oval at right serves as the watermark area. "CENTRAL BANK OF EGYPT" runs along the top in letterpress. |

| Ghi chú |
Bradbury Wilkinson printed extensively for Egypt across multiple decades, and this series falls within a politically turbulent stretch — the 1961–1964 window brackets Nasser's nationalization decrees of July 1961, which dismantled much of the private banking sector and placed the Central Bank in a dominant new role formalized only the previous year. The institution itself had been established in 1961, making these among the earliest notes it issued under its own name rather than through the National Bank of Egypt.
Pick 39 is found with two distinct signature combinations, El-Refay and Zendo appearing across the run's span. Neither served long in their respective positions, which limits the print window for each pairing considerably.
